OMG

I just got a call from a friend of mine who is a fellow Harry Potter Fan.  She was telling me she watched Good Morning America this morning and they announced some startling news.  Daniel Radcliff (alias Harry Potter) is going to be performing Amadeas on stage in England.  OK..that’s not so startling.  Here’s the startling part….”with nude scenes”.    It is hard to imagine and I can’t help but picture him as a child.  I know, I know…I am AWEFUL!  And the poor guy will never live down his role as Harry Potter.  I had to ask my friend his age as I was quite suprised.  He’s 21.  I guess legal…but still !  My comment…”I guess the show will make lots of money casting him in that role.”

The Cracked Pot

My cousin sent me this internet story. I loved it and wanted to share. I thought it a beautiful reminder to all of us of just how perfectly imperfect we are.  Enjoy the story!

An elderly Chinese woman had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a
pole which she carried across her neck.
One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and
always delivered a full portion of water.

At the end of the long walk from the stream to the house, the cracked pot
arrived only half full.

For a full two years this went on daily, with the woman bringing home only
one and a half pots of water. Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its
accomplishments. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own
imperfection, and miserable that it could only do half of what it had been
made to do.

After 2 years of what it perceived to be bitter failure, it spoke to the
woman one day by the stream. “I am ashamed of myself, because this crack in
my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house.”

The old woman smiled, “Did you notice that there are flowers on your side
of the path, but not on the other pot’s side?” “That’s because I have
always known about your flaw, so I planted flower seeds on your side of the
path, and every day while we walk back, you water them.”

“For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate
the table. Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this
beauty to grace the house.”

Each of us has our own unique flaw. But it’s the cracks and flaws we each
have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding. You’ve
just got to take each person for what they are and look for the good in
them.

So, to all of my crack pot friends, have a great day and remember to smell
the flowers!

The Final Episode!

Tuesday the last season of “The Pretender” came out on DVD.  Of course I was at Best Buy as soon as I could get there that morning to buy it.  I’ve watched 10 of the episodes thus far.  I know the show is somewhat hokey…but I LOVE it!  I find myself smiling so often as I watch it.  I’m so looking forward to seeing the last episode.  The really bad part though is the show was not completed.  It got cut without warning and they didn’t really do a final episode so I guess the joy of it will be I can make it whatever I want it to be in my head.

I feel the same way about Harry Potter as I do about this show.  I have waited so long to find out the ending and anticipated it.  I can’t wait to read the last page of the last book to find out the ending.  But on the other hand I so dread it.  It’s sort of like Christmas.  You look forward to the coming of Christmas.  You savor the preparations, the fun times, and then it’s here and gone and there is not more to anticipate.  The only difference with Christmas is, it comes again the next year.  When these books are over….they’re over.  Whaaa!

The Shuttle has Landed

I just heard the sonic booms about 3 minutes ago.  I was sitting here in quiet (that doesn’t happen much here…) enjoying some time to myself when I heard the double boom.  I instantly thought “Shuttle”.  I turned on the TV and sure enough.  I had to laugh to myself.  I guess I’ve lived here long enough now to realize the sound without the initial panic it used to invoke.

*added post*

I’m all excited.  The mailman just came to the door (in pooring rain) to deliver a package I’ve been waiting for this past week.  I take an online scrapbook class.  When I registered for this class they were having a drawing for some goodies.  I was one of 10 winners.  I can’t believe it. I NEVER win anything.  So I’m thinking okay…I won…will I really get the prize?  I did!  I did!  It came today.  I totalled up the value of the cost of all of the items and it came to about $75 in  scrapping goods.  Woowhoo!  I’m am so looking forward to having fun with it all.

She’s being darn cute once again!

I picked my daughter up from school the other day and was speaking with her teacher about “my son”.  When we walked out of the classroom DD asked me, “Who is your son?”  I told her that was her big brother (Guh, Guh).  She looked at me and didn’t miss a beat with the reply, “Oh!  Then I must be your moon!”  Ah!  And she is…my moon!
