Ernesto Watch
I haven’t been online much lately. I have been making progress in my house. It is looking better daily. My crap, uhm craft room is my greatest eye sore and the only way to tame it is to attack the individual crafts that have piled up and get them completed and out of there. I’m attempting to complete a project a week. Some of them of course will take much longer. Those I’m saving for last. I’m going to get as many of the smaller ones out of the way first. Right now I’m working on a dress that I bought a pattern and cloth for last year. I’ll try to remember to share a photo once it’s all done.Â
I was just online and looking at Ernesto. I guess I’ll have to keep an eye on him for now. http://noaa.gov has a new thing where you can save a link to your computer and be able to click on the link now to track any storm you want. It’s great! If continues on the current path we will see the likes of him by mid to late in the week. Of course my class starts on Thurs night and it’s the only one I have to attend. If he’s in this area, I’m sure it will be cancelled. UGH
Oh well. Off to work on the dress for now. I hope your upcoming week is wonderful!

Post Slugging Again
I can’t believe it’s been over a week again since my last post. I can’t seem to keep up with everything lately. I’m trying to figure out why. I’m not doing half of what I was doing in the last two years…both kids are in school…but I still seem to be busy all the time. What am I doing? I’m supposed to register for my class today but the site to register is down. What will I do when classes start? UGH! Actually the house is looking better and I did just get over “something” so wasn’t feeling well. Hope my organization skills pick up and I can get some stuff I want done.
Speaking of not feeling well. I had the oddest thing happen the other day. A neighbor of ours passed away and we were preparing to go to the viewing. I had some left over pizza in the freezer so pulled it out and we had it for dinner. Within minutes after eating the pizza my bottom lip on my left side started swelling. It got HUGE! Looked like my husband beaned me good! LOL! It didn’t hurt, itched only for a few seconds when it started and I couldn’t find any marks or spots that seemed to indicate a bite of some kind. I took Benedryl just in case, which totally messes with me physically. I was in bed by 8:30 and slept for 10 hours. It was much better in the morning and seems to be back to normal today. I just can’t figure out what it was. Allergy? Bug Bite? (And how on earth a bug could manage to get to my lip without me noticing???) Oh well, it will be one of those things in life that will probably never be answered.Â

Back to School Time
Yesterday was our first day of school. DH took off because it was DD’s first day of Kindergarten. We knew she would boo hoo as she always does when she starts something new. She cried every year when she started preschool, she cried when she went into the new sunday school class, so we knew…tears! What I didn’t expect was Mommy’s tears. I thought I would be fine…but as I left her in the class, “ “. I had two friends waiting as I left too. That did not help. They saw the tears and hugged me. That’s all I needed to blubber some more.
Today is my first day home alone. I have grand plans of cleaning house and cooking dinner. What a life.
We’re thinking about getting our house on the market in the next year, and I have 10 years of junk here. My goal is to clean up and clear out. I’m going to work on deep cleaning first and then start going thru cabinets, drawers, closets, tubs and toss, toss, toss. Woowhoo! The thought of it is exciting to me. Especially if I can put some more of my stuff on ebay and get paid for it like my cookbooks last week.
I went out to register for school yesterday. Guess I’ll be going back again. The lines were incredible. UGH…not looking forward to that part. I got tickled at DH though. Just being in the place excited him. He’s talking about going back again too. We walked thru the bookstore and looked at the books and classes. He was making fun of me because I was looking at the books to select what classes I wanted to take. He said, “I’ve never seen anyone select a class by the book”. I figure why not. If I look at the book, I get a better feel for what is going to be taught in the class and if that’s what I want to learn.

Where does the time go?
I’m reminded of a saying I often heard as a kid. “Time’s fun when you’re having flies!” (As the frog says)
Where has this week gone? I can’t believe it’s almost half over. It’s been busy, but fun! Monday I stayed home and got the house in good shape, even though it was full of boys all day long. DS asked if one of his friends could spend the night. I said sure. His little brother tagged along, so I got two for the price of one. (DS is actually right in the middle of the two boys ages.) The three boys kept me up till midnight. We got out of bed at 8 to make it to the freebie movies. We saw “Curious George”. Even the 5th grader enjoyed the movie. After the movie we went to lunch and stopped in at the book store. Everyone got a book and then home it was. I take my kids to meet the teacher tomorrow afternoon.Â
Got a funny phone call today. I answered and the caller asked to speak to my husband or me. I said it was I. She stated, “You work with the PTA at school, don’t you?” Yes was my reply. She introduced herself by her name and basically asked if I would be working “Meet the teacher” tomorrow. Yes, I will. She told me she’d see me there then and said goodbye. I’m scratching my head. This is not a person I knew and couldn’t figure out what the call was about. The PTA pres called me later in the day so I questioned him about this person. He had no clue either. So I call the school on another issue and speak to one of the women in the office about the call while I’m at it…”It was my daughter’s K teacher…calling to introduce herself.” She fogot one small piece of information. ROFLOL…way to impress the parents!Â
Looks like we’re watching Chris for the next few days. When I’m not working at school, it’s time to get my act together just in case. I’m eating from the fridge and freezer to get rid of as much as possible. My friend informed me today that they’re coming here if they lose power this time. No more sticking it out without electric at their house while the rest of the world basks in air. Last time they had a generator to run the fridge and allowed a neighbor to keep food in their fridge until electric was returned to the neighborhood. The neighbors left and went to a hotel while he had to stay and monitor the generator. He was not happy. This time they will bring their food and come to our house for a big grill out. Hopefully we’ll all have electric and it won’t be a problem.
I cleaned out a cabinet full of cookbooks the other day. I put several on ebay and I’m so excited! Two of the bids closed today and right now I’ve got over $45. sold. Way more than I expected. Woowhoo!
