Is it a full moon?

I worked at the school for a little while this morning. I dropped my kids off and went to pick up some work from my son’s teacher. I took it to a quiet little corner I know of to get it done without much disruption. On my way I came across three children with staff members, all three in melt down mode. What a way to end the week. After completing the task I had, I was walking back to drop it off in the room and ran into the principal, the dean of students and a policeman all in pursuit of a child I’m assuming. UGH! What a day they are having. I was happy to leave my work and go. Sure hope their day gets better.
I did talk to DS’s teacher while I had the opportunity about the homework load. I asked if it was always going to be this heavy. She looked at me with a shocked look. “This heavy, it’s not that much work!” I said my son who is a smart and fast worker was spending an hour to an hour and a half every night on it. I worry about those for whom the work does not come as easy for. Her mouth dropped. That long? It’s only spelling, reading and two workbook pages. I said, it takes a long time to look up 30 words and write 30 sentences and write 30 words 5 X each. Then reading for 30 minutes and two worksheets. He’s getting really discouraged. I really don’t think she had a clue, because then her whole attitude changed and I do think she will be decreasing it. She said they won’t always have 30 words, it will be 15 words and she’s sending home a note to tell them reading only 20 minutes a night. Whew! Much better! Almost half the load is doable.

Sleep Woes
|
|
UGH! Another night. I kept awake all day in hopes of sleeping through the night. I got in bed at 11 P.M and at 4 A.M.,  the eyes are wide open! This time I just got out of bed and went into the living room to read. About an hour and a half later I started feeling sleepy again so went back to bed and must have fallen asleep because the alarm woke me up at 7. (That’s profound! ) Interestingly, I’m awake and feeling okay this morning but this cycle is driving me insane. Hmm? Cycle? Probably the issue. If so, it will be a few more days before I get to sleep normal again.
Got the kids off to school this morning and have high ambition of cleaning my house today. I find if I make a list and work from my list I get a lot more accomplished. For some reason I hardly ever make that list though. I will today. I have to make progress here.Â
Empty dishwasher
shower
laundry
clean bathrooms
wash floors
- vacuum
- dust
- the list goes on (kinda like the beat

Okay! This drives me crazy. I’m determined not to get onto one of those funky cycles! Yesterday I was so tired. I got the kids in bed , and went to bed myslef at 10pm. (Early for me.) I woke up at 5:30 this morning for no reason! I was just wide awake and couldn’t go back to sleep. So after trying for an hour to do so I got up and started my morning. I did a little cleaning, worked on the computer, got kids lunches together and then woke the kids at 7:15. Now, they’re at school and I need to start on regular chores! Guess who is tired now and wanting a nap? I could take one, but the problem comes in then when it’s time to go to bed tonight and I’m wide awake again. UGH! I’m not happy with my natural time clock. I sure wish it would listen to me when I tell it not to wake me up!

Tired Monday
|
|
Boy, I had a difficult time waking this morning. This old body did not want to move. Actually I never did really get moving much today. I ended up laying around most of the day watching Lord of the Rings, The King Returns. I think I love those movies more every time I watch them. I don’t remember all the banter between the elf and the dwarf, but I found myself giggling a lot over it this time. I intend to get to bed early tonight and hopefully will wake up ready to move tomorrow as I have plenty that needs to get done and this body needs to move!

Friday at last!

We made it thru the first week of school. DS is already beginning to fuss about homework and DD is learning well from her older brother. DS is complaining about his class, not the teacher, the kids. He says the P.E. teacher told them they were the WORST CLASS IN 5th GRADE! Guess he (the P.E. teacher) hasn’t learned the lesson in self fulfilled prophesy yet. If he keeps that up, he’ll learn it REAL quick.
I walked into the office yesterday and was greeted heartily by the Assistant Principal. “Here’s just the person to fix this!” He points to the computer and I’m thinking “You’ve got to be kidding! You must have me mixed up with someone else.” But I start plugging away at his issue and not 3 minutes later this guy comes into the office (new computer tech at the school) and says I KNEW something was happening up here. LOL…yeah I fixed it alright! Guess the AP won’t be tagging me with the title of computer guru afterall!
While I was in the office I overheard the parent of another child in DS’s class talking with the AP about a food fight in the cafeteria that his son was involved in. DS had mentioned an issue in the cafeteria with some kids at one table and moving away from them to another table. Guess I know why now. Anyway, guess the AP wasn’t familiar with the issue at that point. Hopefully these wonderful children will get their act together real soon!
DD on the other hand is thrilled with her class. (All except P.E. that is!) She loves the teacher, loves being with her friends and is already bringing home her artwork of her and her friends in her class. This is the same teacher DS had for first and she’s GRAND!
