Spring Break

Current Mood:Happy emoticon Happy

The kids are out for spring break this week.  I was looking forward to a leisurely week with them.  NOT!  This morning started with a trip to the dentist for DD.  Tomorrow morning is a trip for DS.  (I couldn’t schedule them on the same day, could I?)  DD has ballet his afternoon, DS has Boy Scouts tonight.  So much for day one.  I’ve been invited to a crop on Wednesday with the kids.  I”m looking forward to that.  I met a group of ladies this weekend that enjoy cropping almost as much as I do.  ;-)

I’m keeping my niece on Tuesday.  Wednesday night DS has a friend coming to spend the night.  He’ll be with us Thursday morning and a group of us are going bowling.  Then Thursday afternoon my sister comes in town with my niece and great-niece.  So much for resting…but we’re gonna have fun!

What’s New?

Lots has been going on around here.  I am officially hired now as a substitute and will work my first day tomorrow.
DS has moved on from cubscouts to boyscouts.  He had his first “Boyscout” campout this past weekend.  Apparently one of the boys has an issue with a foul mouth.  It bothered DS quite a bit.  He’s headed into middle school now and it is something he is going to have to learn to deal with.

DH is working a different position now at work.  It has been stressful on him changing over.  It’s not an “upward” move, it’s a “crossover” move, but it will give him more opportunities.  So he decided to take it.

DH is also getting an award at work that is quite a big to do.  The company is paying for DH and I to fly to Dallas, TX for this and getting us a really nice room at a Gaylord Hotel there.  I get to buy a “formal” dress which is proving to be difficult as not many stores are carrying them this time of year.  I may have to break down and make one.  Which means one more thing to do.  LOL

DS has his state mandated testing going on this week at school.  I’m going to help proctor the tests on Wed-Fri.  And I have a test in my online class too which I am getting very tired of, but am not even half way through.

So it’s another busy week ahead.  I’m going for it with gusto!
