Current Mood: Cheerful First of all…Happy Easter. This to me is the most important holiday of all as a Christian. If it weren’t for Easter, then Christmas would just have been any other birthday. Wishes for Easter blessing go to all of my friends and family.

 Kids
I cleaned out the box that holds our baby chicks last night. They have been housed in our bathroom thus far to keep them safe from kitties who would like to have a chickie dinner if given half the chance. Well this morning was enough. I walked in and the smell was overpowering. I even gagged. They had to move outside. We have them on the porch for now but will move them into the garage for the night. PU Our bathroom has been scoured and cleaned and the smell is going away. Whew!
My family is coming over here for dinner today. I guess I’m going to have to go and get started on something to eat. Enjoy your day.

Time to Rant

Current Mood: Angry We got a new TV. DH bought it at the end of February when Circuit City was going out of business. He said the guy in front of him had a damaged box and so they checked the TV before he left to make sure that it was okay. DH asked to have ours checked but they said the box was fine, he didn’t need to have it checked. WRONG!
He brought it home and it took about a week for us to get it out of the box and set up. We turned it on and NOTHING! Okay, there was some sound, but no picture. Circuit City was not taking them back because of closing and so we contacted the manufacturer. They would fix it. We were fine. They gave us the name of a local company to contact to do the work and we called. This is Friday and their voice mailbox is full. I call Saturday, mailbox full. Monday morning…mailbox full. So we call back the manufacturer and the customer service rep says she’ll call for us. She puts me on hold and comes back and tells me their mailbox is full. “Uh, is that not what I just told her? Argh!” She says there are no other certified companies to do the work in our area. She has to send the request to another department and it would take them 24 hours to find another company and set it up. They would contact me tomorrow. The original company contacts me on Tuesday. They quickly schedule someone to come out and fix it. The next morning they are here, they replace some box and it still doesn’t work. It can’t be fixed it in our home. It has to be taken in for a master tech to fix it. Okay…It should be back by Friday. Friday comes, no word. We call and they are waiting on a part. It’s supposed to be there on Monday. Okay…Monday comes…part on back order…don’t know when to expect it. Call manufacturer, two weeks. Two weeks come…no part. Call manufacturer, part in, order on hold…don’t know why…but will fix.
Part arrives on Monday. Broken…reorder…Are you following my frustration. So almost 6 weeks later…they call us at 7:00 pm last night and tell us they’re on their way to deliver our TV. Halleluiah! NOT! They get here, set it up, turn it on…NOT EVEN SOUND THIS TIME! We’re back to square one! DH is calling the manufacturer on Monday and let them have it. This is enough! Send us another TV!

What’s Up Chick?
|
|
Current Mood: Housework We ended up with 4 little chickies and they are growing by leaps and bounds. It’s amazing how much they change each day. They are less than a week old and they are already growing little feathers on the ends of their wings. They are steady on their feet, even hopping up on things and back down. They spend their days cheeping, eating, drinking and pooping. They sure are messy little buggers. I have to change the paper in their box daily and we’re almost to the point of needing to do it twice a day. Soon they’ll be able to be placed on the back porch. I’m looking forward to that as it will be easier to keep things clean. I’m also amazed at how popular our home has become since having these little guys. I have at least one family over every day and usually 3 or 4. I’m already looking forward to the time when they head on to the farm. LOL! So much for keeping a couple of chickens.
 First two
 Note little feathers
 Last two to hatch.
I have spent the last two years growing out my hair to one length with no bangs. I finally have it to the point that the next hair cut I get, will do it. A friend on mine came over earlier this week and I fell in love with her new haircut. I think it would look great on me…but it’s all layered. UGH! So now I’m having this dilema on what I want to do with my hair. I think I’m going to take my pic and put it one of those hair style sites and play around.
I’m still reeling over the Twilight Saga. I’ve been to the author’s website and read all of her out takes, her comments, her thoughts. I’m thinking of starting the whole saga over again. The second book was extremely hard to get through and she even made some comments about reading it through twice for the reason that the first time you’re so focused on what happened that you miss the development of the character in that book. I had to agree. I really did not like what was going on and was so concerned that I could not focus on the middle of the story. Confession here…I had to jump to the end of the story and find out what happened before I could go on reading the middle. Now that I know I do think I would enjoy it better.
What I found interesting on the author’s site was her discussion of how she wrote the story. She developed the characters and let them tell the story. I’ve had several “creative writing” classes growing up and never thought about writing that way. It almost makes me want to give it a try. Note the word almost! I’ve always tried to write by thinking up a story and the characters come as the story is told. Interesting. My friend tells me I’m obsessed with this saga. In truth? I am! But as I told her, “This too shall pass. Just hang in there.”

Life at Home

Current Mood:
I started reading this book last week because I was curious. It is not a story I expected to enjoy. It’s not the typical type I read. But I fell in love with the storyline. I ended up getting the rest of the series and finished the entire series in 6 days. I was exhausted when completed. It took me a few days to recover. Now I’m finding myself going through withdrawl. Guess I’m going to have to start all over again. Maybe this time I can slow down and enjoy reading it more as I already know what happens. I find it so funny that several aquaintances have responded to me that they had a very similar experience. If you don’t usually like this sort of story and so haven’t picked it up yet. You might be pleasantly surprised.
We are hatching out baby chicks this morning at our house. I wasn’t expecting the fun to begin until this afternoon. At midnight last night the first loud peeping occured and the first chick arrived. We have 3 out of the egg now and 2 more in process. Here’s some pics of the first two.
 First to arrive!
